'I'll teach you!' Seth epiphanised, his eyes growing wild with excitement. 'I know all the words and the moves and stuff that we'd both do, and I think the Rite is same for girls, only you'd do it with a woman, like yeer Aunt, instead of a man like me and Tom. So, there's the branding, the runing, the Rite, the Sacred Vows, and the Knighting. I can teach you all that, and then ye'll have time to learn whatever 'tis girls do there while I'm off having my other stuff done - which is mostly tests and stuff to make sure we're not a load of prats.'
Inbreeding...the very word made Seth shudder. It sounded disgusting and...animalistic. He had grown up believing he was safe in his bastard position. No one wanted the boy with tainted blood married off to their daughter, and he was pleased enough. It meant he could marry anyone he bloody well pleased, and was not confined to a second cousin. But now he was Augustus's heir, and clueless as he may be about some things, he knew that being heir would change all of that. His freedom of choice was gone. The mater had informed him already that his seventeenth birthday would mark the end of "all that childish nonsense". They were holding a party for him, the mater and Augustus, in which he would meet his chosen wife, and that was all to be done about it. No whining, no opposition. He went to the party and married who they chose, and if he so much as put a hair out of line, they'd make sure he was miserable.

Oione quirked a brow at him slightly taken aback with his outburst of wild enthusiasm, but nodded as her spitits seemed to have risen a little as from what Seth claimed it wasn't going to be as difficult as she expected it to be. Though, to tell the truth Oione was far from enthusiastic and definitely did not excite herself over it too much. Well maybe a bit, because partly...it was thrilling. However, she did not believe she had anything in common with the Knight's philosophy and definitely did not share the ones about blood purity or killing muggle and muggle borns, she did obviously find herself superior to the non magic folk but it wasn't really anything special since she found herself superior to almost everyone around.
Oione wondered if Seth was aware that certain things were going to change for him too, the minute he became Augustus' heir. The again, knowing him he probably wasn't. The only thing that cheered the girl up a bit was the fact that coming from France did not make her related to any of the British pureblood families apart from the Lestranges, so it wasn't likely for her to end up marrying a cousin. it was also where the reassuring thoughts ended because the girl wasn't really fond of anyone who could possibly become a candidate for her husband; two years were left to the final choice and Oione dreaded the moment her mother would take matters into her own hands.
"We'll start from tomorrow, then" she finished briskly, glancing at the wall clock. "It's already five and we should be going. Pince will be opening the library soon." Of course, Oione took the books with no intention of returning them any time soon.
