SLOW MOTION. &&[/b]
The school opening had seemed like a good thing. A safe haven for those who really had nowhere else where they felt safe. Somewhere where they could rest their head for a while. But, eventually it was discovered that Xavier’s was nothing but a ticking time bomb ready to explode. So, as the school opened for the first time, as students roamed something that could possibly be called, home, they most likely had no idea how they couldn’t hide from the world. Eventually the world would catch up with such a calm, quiet place. As was discovered by Sooraya Qadir and Sally Blevins as they sat in the recreation room, as they found their simple small talk swaying towards things of vast complexity. They began to speak of mutants possibly controlling the world, of everything splitting in two. Of friendships splintering and romances dying, they had no idea how prophetic their conversation was indeed. How they had spoken the words of the future, of the x-men and the brotherhood.
Yet, as the two girls sat, speaking their minds into the open air, more people were speaking as well of something alarmingly similar. It was at this moment that Eric Lensherr met what was to be one of his right hand mutants, a precognitive woman named Irene Adler, a close friend of a certain Raven Darkholme, as the three of them sat at a small cafe. Of course they spoke over coffee, but it was Raven who began to speak passionately of how humans had treated her, how she wished to show them what she could do. With a simple nod of her head, it was Irene who urged her on. Of course, this nod was all she needed before she spit out her plans. Her idea to create a group of mutants who would overthrow the human government. Slowly but surely the trio had come up with the perfect idea, a group of mutants who would prove who the better species were.
It didn’t take long for the three of them to find a group of mutants who believed as they did. Who had been hurt so horribly, that revenge ran deep within them, etched in their blood. Slowly the group began to meet every few nights in the school’s basement, speaking softly of the future. Yet, of course something went wrong that on one predicted. It was actually a simple teenage romance, between a certain Kitty Pryde and Dominic Petros, two people who the average person would suspect hated each other. Yet, for some odd reason the two clicked, falling in love with each other from the first moment they spoke. It took a while before either acted on their feelings but eventually it happened. Yet, as Dominic ran off to join the secret underground brotherhood, he didn’t tell Kitty a thing figuring she wouldn’t understand. Not to mention that it might ruin what they had, which was so utterly perfect.
Yet, nothing can remain perfect for long and no girl can truly keep her mouth shut. For, Dominic and Kitty had been trying to keep their romance on the down low, hoping no one would find out. For, both of their reputations were at risk. Yet, one night as Kitty sat on her bed, her best friend TJ sitting next to her, she decided she simply had to tell someone. Not to mention that TJ was indeed her best friend. So, she just all of a sudden blurted it out to her friend’s surprise. Yet, after a second TJ wrapped her arms around her friend telling her how amazing it was, how she wouldn’t tell a soul. Of course, she kept her promise, not telling anyone until it became too late. Until a choice was forced upon the poor, blue mutant.
It was a quiet night when she got up to get a glass of water and heard something. It sounded like the voice of her English professor, Mr. Lensherr, so she decided to get a closer look. TJ followed the voice until she came to the door of the basement, something she had never quite found the time or use to enter. Of course, it was just her luck, the one night that they forget to lock the small door, walking down one step she listened to the conversations and heard the brotherhood speaking. Placing her hand across her mouth in shock at the sound of Dominic’s voice uttering such harsh comments she immediately ran up the stairs, debating whether to tell her best friend. But, in the end, she decided she simply had to tell her for, what might happen if she didn’t?
At first Kitty told her how it couldn’t be true, she even got to the point where she was screaming. But, eventually she chose to believe TJ, knowing that the girl had never lied to her before. As the sound of Dominic footstep’s approached the door of her dorm, Kitty stormed out, screaming at him, begging him to tell her what TJ had told him wasn’t true. The yelling attracted students from dorms near hers and even ones just passing through the hallways, amongst the night air, the words hit the students, hard. No, one will ever know who started the fight, who threw the first punch. They only know that a fight did indeed occur, a horrible one. They also know what happened afterward, the small group of powerful mutants driving the weaker and tired students out of the building. Leaving them cold and helpless outside, moving quickly to escape death.
They hid for a while. The forest becoming their home for a week as they shivered, tired and hungry. Of course, their headmaster had connections, ones that ended up benefiting them all. For, he knew of a man who was willing to lend them a giant mansion to live in. Yet, where would they learn? Where would their new school be? Of course, they have to go to public school, learn to live amongst humans again. As they arrive at the mansion most are just happy to be there and nod as the headmaster tells them the one catch.
No one must find out that they are mutants.
