The-Boy-Who-Lived. The Chosen One. Harry Potter's life had been claimed in what was supposed to be the final battle between him and Lord Voldemort. The Dark Lord, supported by his faithful Death Eaters and a new generation of Knights of Walpurgis, is close to achieve his ultimate goal; reign over Britain and then the world, he is reaching for power with both, ghostly pale, hands.
However, the war is not over, thin but yet strong line of resistance containing both Ministry workers and the Order of the Phoenix stands in front of the Dark Lord with their heads held high; they still have the most valuable treasure which is...Hope. But hope quickly evaporates when you have to make choices and decisions that not only will put your life at stake, but also thousands of others.

Far from its former glory, but still the safest place in Wizarding Europe; Hogwarts is accepting students again. While Durmstrang and Beauxbatons fell, either taken over by Death Eaters or destroyed, Hogwarts under the firm hand of Minerva McGonagall lasted through those dark and difficult times. People would like to think that the atmosphere in the school stayed idyllic, blissfully ignoring the fact that nothing could stay idyllic in the midst of a war. It's not about cliques any more, it's about Alliances and views. The Headmistress is well aware that under her wings not only future Order members are growing but also loyal Voldemort supporters. But, just like Dumbledore, she believes in giving chances.

One would think that the Ministry and the Order of the Phoenix would unite in hatred for Voldemort, however the current state of relations is not as glorious as historians and archivists would love to see it.
This remote co-operation had both its advantages and disadvantages; they are harder to track and more anonymous during missions.
However, bureaucrats will always be bureaucrats, not matter what is held in front of them and when afraid for their necks they will try to negotiate with a man that is not one negotiate with, bringing doom not only to themselves. Therefore McGonagall, who had also took charge in the Order is reluctant to give the Ministry of Magic her trust and even as she agrees no co-operation in essential and urging matters she would never let one of her people risk his life for Ministry deeds. And what of youths? Born in the midst of the war, they were forced to mature and grow up faster than their parents. It is their future or lack of it that they are about to choose and raging hormones aren't really helping. There is no place for childish fascinations, dreams or hesitation; it would seem that the world presents itself in shades of gray, this time, however, the two paths are outlined as clearly as possible; take up a job in the Ministry, work for the Order, join the Knights of Walpurgis or perhaps disgrace yourself as a Double Agent.
It all stands flaring in their minds like a neon banner.
Masking themselves and fooling people became one of those very few ways to stay more or less safe, everyone's a fighter.
Those teenagers must face their own private tragedies, those big and small ones, survive in this world when it is extremely hard to come back home still breathing and keep their true faces far away from the prying eyes of others.
