Orion's footsteps made a small noise as he walked down the empty corridor. It was most likely near midnight but at this point the time didn't' matter to him. Still in his school uniform Orion had even attempted to get to sleep, he had been doing homework and when finished knew that sleep was out of the question. So instead he decided to try one of his favorite pastimes, taking late night strolls around the castle. And the fact that he was Head Boy made this entirely possible because he could use the common excuse of patrolling the hallways. He had left his cloak back up in the common room and his sleeves were rolled up to his elbows along with his shirt untucked and his tie loosened. Comfort mattered to Orion, a thing that earned him scoldings about his uniform during his earlier years in Hogwarts.
He glanced up at a nearby window and saw the clouds pass over the full moon. It reminded him of his father and what he must be going through at the moment, not that it mattered much to Orion. He really didn't' care that much for his father, he found him annoying especially now with the bombardment of questions he received on what he would do after he graduated. Orion honestly didn't have a clue but nonetheless his parents have been hinting the possibility of becoming an auror. He continued roaming the lone corridor his hands in his pockets and his wand in his back pocket his mind wandering from topic to topic. The only thing he wished for at the moment was a student to punish or a familiar face.

It was too cold in the Slytherin common room. Throwing the fireplace a filthy look for not doing its job properly, Seth stood. He was bored, lazy, and freezing his arse off in here. Perhaps the kitchens would offer more comfort? they had a lovely great fireplace there and plenty of food, not to mention the house - elves. Those little buggers were always willing to give him what he wanted, no matter what. All he needed now was to somehow manage to get there without being caught, which shouldn't be too difficult. He shuffled out of the common room, clutching his wand.
The corridors were, if possible, even more chilly than the common room. Swearing profusely at his rotten luck, Seth stumbled down the dark corridor, his wand held out before him like a sabre. He didn't dare light it, lest some professor or prefect took a fancy to his corridor and ran into him. He'd be in for it then. Only just back at school and already losing points for Slytherin. His housemates would loathe him for that, just as they had last year. And the year before. Whispering a low threat to a nearby portrait, he rounded the corner --- and stopped dead. Something was moving just ahead of him, something large and man-sized. He swore again, becoming instantly still. Maybe whoever it was wouldn't see him.Tthey couldn't have heard him yet.

Orion shivered slightly as the cold had began to get to him. He'd forgotten how the temperature can change in the later hours. He took his wand out of his back pocket and twirled it in his hand out of sheer boredom, it was quiet unusual for the corridors to be this empty. And frankly Orion wished that someone would appear and either give him someone to converse with or take house points away. Either would have been fine as long as it involved social contact. Walking some more up the corridor he glanced up and saw what he believed to be a statue or a student, he couldn't really tell because of the lack of light.
Approaching slowly he lit his wand and saw much to his dismay a familiar Slytherin fifth year. As much as he wanted someone to talk to this really wasn't what he had in mind. Rolling his eyes a little he lowered his wand. "Sneaking out are we now?" he said with a small smirk on his face. He couldn't decide whether a detention or loss of house points would be better for Seth. Seth might be two years younger than Orion but there was still a rivalry between them.

Blinking rapidly, Seth drawled obnoxiously, 'Grown a brain this holiday, have you? Congratulations. It's quite an accomplishment.'
There was something about Orion Lupin that made Seth's blood boil. Perhaps the fact that the older boy was also the head boy? No, that wasn't nearly enough to inspire such loathing. Augustus certainly didn't harbour any pleasant feelings for the Lupin family, so it couldn't have come from there. He shrugged mentally, resigning himself to the fact the probably wouldn't find out any time soon. shivering in his pyjamas, which weren't much more than a t-shirt and a pair of trousers, Seth stepped forward, his eyes gleaming in the dim light from the head boy's wand. If Lupin could light his wand, why couldn't Seth?
There was no reason not to, he decided, smirking as his wand tip was illuminated.

Orion rolled his eyes, some things just never change. "If only I could say the same for you." he replied. The only reason he bothered to know Seth was because he was Head Boy and through parties. The only real reason Orion went to student parties was to represent a form of authority to bend the rules some. His relationship with Seth was nowhere near friends and past a mutual dislike. Why it was this way, he wasn't too sure but it was much more than just a house rivalry or the fact that he was Head Boy. The fact that he was a Lupin didn't help.
The boy took a step towards him but Orion didn't move he was still deciding on a simple punishment for him, but he wasn't feeling particularly evil at the moment. "How would the other Slytherins feel about you losing house points this early in the year?" he asked. He knew they wouldn't be happy about it and that his reputation included always losing house points early on in the year.

'About as pleased a cat that's having its tail chopped off, I'd imagine,' Seth retorted snidely, his smirk widening. 'How would you feel if I told you don't give a toss about what how they feel?'
Over the years, Seth's and Orions relationship had grown to one of mutual disliking and beyond. There was a rivarly between them that some might call immature. Seth found it rather interesting, although, he supposed it might have been a better idea not to be on bad terms with the head boy. Then again, Lupin would be gone in a year. Why ruin something they had already worked so long and hard to establish? It wasn't as if he would have to put up with the ruddy prat's annoying knack for catching him when he was up to no good for much longer. It was only year, he reminded himself. A year.

His wand still in hand Orion crossed his arms, he would much rather be alone at this point. In his mind discussion or arguing anything with Seth was a complete waste of breath. It only made him happier to the fact that it was his final year here and next year he wouldn't have to deal with others like him. But as far as he knew Seth seemed to ignore the common fact that being on bad terms with a form of authority such as the head boy was frowned up a little.
"Only gives me more reason to give you both a detention and take away house points." It was the least he could do really and he knew Seth wouldn't care as much as others. Orion himself didn't care about simple punishments in his younger years. He shivered slightly and noticed what Seth was wearing and could only think of how one goes out as such knowing the coldness of the corridors.

Seth was not known around school for being a model student. His smirk now a full-blown grin, he made to flick the hair from his eyes. This hadn't been the sort of thing he had been hoping for upon leaving the common room. A quiet night, some good food, maybe a glass of pumpkin juice. He'd been missing it since the mater eradicated fruit juiced form the household a few months ago. But this . . . this wasn't anything near what Seth had been hoping for. He didn't want or need anothe detention, especially not from this git.
'You'll also be the one who writes my parents to tell them I've got into trouble again, will you?'
Cocking an eyebrow, he mentally grimaced at the thought of Augustus opening that lettre. Another summer down the drain, and Oione's plan to break him out of Limerick was suddenly looking appealing.

Orion knew for a fact that Seth didn't particularly like detentions. But then again who did these days? And just because Orion had the power to assign detentions and take away house points and the such, didn't mean he overextended his power. Rather he preferred to bend the rules to his liking and if someone didn't like it then they would have to deal with it.
"Why would I? The professors do that." he said. In Orion's mind sending a letter home for something as simple as a detention was pointless and a waste of parchment. Wanting to end this conversation Orion decided against the detention, it was too early in the year and too late in the night for one of those. "But It seems that you've caught me in a better mood so I'll just stay with taking off house points." He wasn't dong it as a favor or anything.

'Knew you didn't hate me,' sniggered Seth, holding his wand a bit tighter. 'Anyway, feel free to take as many as you like. I'm sure it's no problem to you, being the son of a filthy, half-human Gryffindor.'
It was a bit below the belt, but this late at night, Seth didn't particularly care what he said. Augustus had told him all about Remus Lupin and his being a werewolf. He silently blessed Fenrir Greyback for being so bloodthirsty. Of course, being a bastard hadn't helped Seth's loathing for the werewolf's son. The boy was too . . . good. Anyone who was head boy was too good, and anyone who was the son of a werewolf didn't deserve to be that good.

Orion's eyes narrowed. As much as he hated the fact that his father was a werewolf himself, he hated it more when people brought it up in a derogatory way as Seth was. Gripping his wand tighter he lowered his arms to his side. Such a comment like that was uncalled for but expected.
"At least I know my father." he said without thinking. Just a while ago he had eavesdropped on one of his parents conversations. It also just so happened that Augustus Rookwood was being discussed along with his family issues. He hadn't planned on listening to all of the conversation but he couldn't leave as Seth was mentioned.

Seth had never been known for kindness. He had a horrible temper when provoked, and Orion was coming dangerously close to bringing out a much nastier side of Seth Silver.
'Shut up,' he breathed, his nostrils flaring. 'You don't know what you're talking about, Lupin, so just sod off.'
It was a pitiful attempt at intimidating the older boy into leaving him alone, but Seth reckoned it was the best he could do. If there was one thing he despised more than anything else, it was not know who his father was. It made him bitter, especially toward people like Orion who were supposed to be treated just as Seth was for their own father's shortcomings, but were made heady boy instead. It wasn't fair, he thought resentfully, glaring at the boy.
He briefly thought of the Knights, and the smirk was back. Lupin thought he was so clever, being a royal prat all the time and rubbing his authority into people's faces. He had it coming to him. Him and his bloody father, they thought they were so great --- thought they won. When he was a Knight, he'd make sure Lupin got his. He'd make him pay for being so careless.

Orion could tell that he had angered Seth quite a bit. But he could also relate. His father was a werewolf whom he didn't even know until he was three. It was the factor that put so much resentment against what his father was, Orion hated it. He didn't say anything as Seth replied quite angrily, he wasn't scared and was prepared if he should try anything. He wasn't tired anymore for that matter, now he was just plain ticked off. He was mad at Seth and his father, he blamed his father for a lot of things especially the fact that he had to carry around that his father is a werewolf.
He thought breifly on giving Seth a detention afterall, but decided against it because in doing so he would just prove weakness in using his authority for revengful reasons. He crossed his arms again and wished for a simple way to leave and not cause an angry confontation or some sort. He didn't want to be weak and a goody-goody as his father was, but he carried some form of the trait and it resulted in him becoming the Head Boy.

Taking a deep breath, Seth managed to calm himself. It wouldn't do if he overreacted and ended up doing something stupid. He didn't need to regret anything tonight. Well, not anything more than a few lost points. Who cared about that anyway? They expected Seth Silver to lose house points. He was known for it, amond other things. Oione wouldn't care. No, said a tiny voice in the back of his head. She has bigger things to worry about now, doesn't she? Like your Knighthood.
'So, how many points have I managed to lose yet?' he joked, adopting a sly smirk. 'Make it worth my time, will you?'

Still pretty ticked off Orion crossed his arms loosely across his chest, wand still in hand. Orion kept his temper pretty much in check but it was events like these that seemed to release it. Pondering a reasonable amount of house points he decided he'd think about later. "Only a few." he said sarcastically. He'd decide later not wanting to try to think to much with his exhausted brain. He would make it worth his time though, and surprise the other Slytherins in the morning with the decrease of jewels in the hourglass.
